Lachchha Paratha is a crispy & tasty paratha which is quite popular in North India and is served with dal or gravy. It is one of the most ordered breads in the restaurants.

It is also quite loved by kids.😊  

We can easily make this restaurant style lachchha  paratha at home. I am sharing the step by step recipe to make this yummy multi-layered paratha at home.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tablespoon carrom seeds (ajwain)
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Water to knead
  • Oil/ghee to grease & to shallow fry the paratha

Step wise recipe for Khasta Lachchha Paratha:

1. flour in a mixing bowl and add carrom seeds, salt and oil in it.

2. Slowly add water in it in phases to knead and make a soft dough.

3. Take small portion of the dough and make a ball shape.

4. Dust it with flour and roll it flat using a rolling pin.

5. Grease the flattened roti generously with ghee/oil.

6. Now, make pleats by holding one edge of the flattened roti and start folding till the other end as shown in the photos below.

7. Hold one corner of the pleated roti and roll it around your finger to make a spiral shape.

8. Now, again dust the dough with flour and gently roll to flatten it. Do not give too much pressure while rolling.


9. Put the rolled paratha on a hot tawa and apply oil or ghee on both the sides. Cook well to make it crispy. 


10. Lachchha Paratha is ready. Serve hot with Dal Makhni or any gravy of your choice.
