This recipe I had been making for years now and being a vegetarian it gives me an immense satisfaction when I see my son enjoying eating it because it definitely fulfils his protein and other nutrition needs. I often tell him that healthy food can taste good too. 🙂

Notes/ Tips to follow

  • You can use extra virgin olive oil, ghee or butter to make this but do make sure to keep it minimal not more than a tablespoon as we are making a healthy salad.
  • Instead of sauteing the onions, you can use them aw and sprinkle the olive oil at the top.
  • Add some chaat masala to make it a little more tangy and to add some more flavor to it but that is completely optional.
  • You can enjoy it as breakfast or as an evening snack. I sometimes make it in dinner when I don’t want to go with usual dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup whole green moong sprouts
  • 1 green chilli (finely chopped)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 medium sized onion (finely chopped)
  • Lemon juice as per taste
  • 1 small tomato (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon oil ( we need to keep it minimum as this is a salad 🙂 )

Step wise recipe for Moong dal ki Salaad

1. Heat oil in a pan and add onion & green chillies. Cook for a minute until the raw smell is removed. Do not overcook.

2. Add chopped tomatoes just stir for a few seconds. 

4. Add salt and sprouts and mix well.
