Soyabean Rice


Rice is one of the staple foods of North India. Any occassion or a celebration looks incomplete if rice is not served. There are countless number of recipes we can cook with Rice like biryani, khicdi, pulao, tahri and many desserts.

It can be served with gravy, dal, vegetables, curd etc. Here, I am sharing one of the easiest and most loved recipes made out of Rice.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bowl rice
  • 1 cup soya chunks
  • 2 teaspoons cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons oil

Recipe:

  1. Thoroughly wash rice with running water 2-3 times and soak for 1/2 and hour
  2. Wash & soak soya chunks in water for 10 minutes
  3. In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add cumin seeds to it. Let the cumin seed crackle
  4. Add soya chunks and stirr.
  5. Add salt and rice and mix well.
  6. Add water and give a quick stirr. Put on the Lead and presurre cook for 15 minutes until 3 whistles. Do not overcook
  7. Open the lid once the pressure is released. Softly mix the rice. Serve hot with curd, raita or any gravy. Or enjoy it just like that
